On the recent wildfires impacting California, Oregon, and Washington state

The Common App team is devastated by the images emerging from the wildfires impacting California, Oregon, and Washington State. If you, your family, or your community has been affected by these events, we want you to know we are here to help.

For students, counselors, teachers, or recommenders impacted by this or other disasters, Common App has set up a dedicated email support channel that will be monitored 24/7. You can reach us at recovery@commonapp.net to ask questions, offer suggestions, and share thoughts on how we can support you and help you navigate the college application process during this crisis.

If you are concerned about missing deadlines as a result of the wildfires, we'd encourage you to reach out to the colleges you are applying to. They may be able to offer specific information about your situation. You can find their contact information in the college search section of our website.

Common App's member colleges never want application fees to pose a barrier to students submitting their applications, especially during a period of unexpected loss. Learn more about how to request a fee waiver.

If you and your family are residents of California in need of local assistance and services, please be sure to visit the California Wildfires Statewide Recovery Resources. Oregon residents can find information specific to their state on the Oregon Wildfire Resources site. Washington State residents can find information through the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.

We hope you are staying safe, and that this information is helpful to you. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
