We stand with you – always

Common App unequivocally believes that a college education is the best investment students can make in their future. But for black students, even a college education cannot protect them from the systemic racial injustices that have plagued our society for hundreds of years.

Racism has no place in our global community, and we cannot stand silently by without acknowledging the grief, anger, and loss the black community has faced, time and time again.

Our role as a member of the higher education community is to provide all students with the tools and resources they need to pursue their college dreams. We commit to looking internally at the actions we can take as an organization to help close the gaps in racial equality and advance lasting change.

To every black student, colleague, school counselor, and partner: we see you, we support you, and we stand with you - always. You matter.

Black lives matter.
