Bryn Mawr College campus

Bryn Mawr College is a private, residential liberal arts college located just outside the city of Philadelphia. One of the original Seven Sisters, we're proud of our continued identity as a women's college and of our close-knit community of 1400 undergraduate students, which is marked by mutual uplift, dynamic thought and expansive horizons. On our stunning campus, students hone their intellect in small classes, learn from every angle and frequently apply their knowledge to scenarios outside the classroom through research and experiential learning. Our students have access to additional academic, co-curricular and social opportunities through our partnerships with nearby Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Application information

First-year

Bryn Mawr uses a holistic review process including, but not limited to, consideration of the student's grades, course progressions, essays, recommendations, testing (if provided), and personal qualities and achievements. Eligible students will have a high school diploma before matriculation and will not have enrolled as a full-time college student at any other institution. Students who have taken college courses as part of their high school curriculum are considered first-year applicants.

Transfer

Any student who has completed more than one full semester of college work post-high school must apply as a transfer student. College credits earned from general education courses in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences may be eligible for transfer. Full-time enrollment is required for transfer students and financial aid is available.

Additional information

Bryn Mawr meets 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted students. Applicants interested in need-based financial aid must submit a financial aid application at the same time as their admissions application, including the CSS Profile, the FAFSA, and additional required tax documents. You must apply for financial aid in your first year to be considered for aid in subsequent years. For more information about applying for aid, visit Financial Aid.  Merit Scholarships are available for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Merit aid eligibility is determined at the point of admission and is not negotiable.

I chose a women's college because I knew it would provide me with a classroom environment where I would always be encouraged to speak up and allow my thoughts and questions to be heard.
