Champlain College campus

Founded in 1878, Champlain College is a small, private college overlooking Lake Champlain in charming Burlington, Vermont. Its innovative, career-focused approach to education is nationally recognized for shaping graduates who are ready for work, ready for life, and ready to make a difference. Champlain students take classes in their major on day one through the Upside-Down Curriculum, allowing them to graduate with more professional experiences, such as internships, jobs, and fieldwork opportunities, and a deeper understanding of their industries. The results: 86% of the Class of 2024 was employed or furthering their education within six months of graduation. Champlain’s small size and professional opportunities attract relentlessly inquisitive and open-minded individuals who are engaged in their community and fiercely dedicated to building the world they want to live in, together.

Visit us

Champlain’s beautiful hilltop campus is situated in Burlington, Vermont—named one of the “coolest small cities” by Thrillist—and overlooks Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. Visitors are invited to attend a student-led tour that weaves through campus and highlights state-of-the-art facilities, dining options, collaborative spaces and classrooms, library, and beautifully restored Victorian-era residence halls—a crowd favorite.

The best way to experience Champlain is at an Open House event—offered each summer, fall, and winter—to meet current students and faculty, and get an inside look at what life at Champlain is really like. Champlain’s virtual tour is available 24/7 online and is a great way to get to know campus from afar. But there’s nothing like seeing it for yourself; it’s even better in person. Plan a visit.

“My experience at Champlain has done so much to prepare me for my future career. All of the different internship experiences, real-world application of my knowledge within my classes, and the relationships I've built have benefited me more than I ever thought would be possible. I know for a fact that I can walk into my future job and list off the things I learned at Champlain, and that employer will be impressed with my range of knowledge.”
