Davidson College campus
Davidson College seeks out intellectually curious students who are committed to developing their talents for lives of leadership and service. Small classes enable our renowned faculty to work closely with students, engaging them directly in original research and creative work across the arts, sciences, social sciences, and humanities. In the classroom and beyond, Davidson cultivates students' compassion, creativity, resilience, and moral courage. We develop these values in a community founded on trust as articulated by the Honor Code and on free, unfettered inquiry.

Additional information

We proudly stand as one of only two dozen schools in the United States that admit domestic students and permanent residents without regard for their family’s ability to pay, meet 100 percent of calculated need for all students, and do so without loans in their aid package. About 51 percent of our students receive need-based aid, and 70 percent receive aid from some source.

Visit us

Visiting our campus is the best way to discover Davidson. Walk the brick pathways with current students, eat a meal on campus, attend classes, gain a better understanding of our academic and extracurricular opportunities, talk with faculty, and just explore. In addition to your tour, our admission staff is available to help refine your understanding of the Davidson experience. You'll get better acquainted with admission policies, the college application process, and financial aid.

Our focus on talents and capacities—writing and speaking clearly, analyzing complex problems from multiple perspectives, working collaboratively to formulate approaches to unsolvable problems, compassion, resilience, self-discipline, and moral courage—is one of our greatest strengths. At the same time, the specific subjects, programs, and methods through which we develop these talents change over time—in light of the changing economy and world.
