Application information
First-year
When you apply to Dominican, your admission decision will be based on a holistic review of your high school academic performance, engagement in and outside of the classroom, and your essay. Sharing your ACT and/or SAT scores is optional. These scores can only help you—we will accept them if they’re submitted to us, but they will not be used for admission decisions. We start making admission decisions on a rolling basis in early fall for each academic year. Once accepted, you're automatically considered for merit scholarships—no extra paperwork needed.
Transfer
When you apply to Dominican as a transfer student, we make sure you are rewarded with academic credit and merit scholarships for the hard work you have already completed.

Additional information
High-Impact Opportunities: You’ll venture beyond campus, maybe even beyond borders. One hundred percent of our students complete internships, study abroad or other high-impact experiences outside class. And unlike most universities, you won’t have to wait until graduate school to conduct serious research. You’ll do it as an undergraduate. We’ll even fund it.
Relationship-Centered Learning: We’re known for tremendous academic rigor as well as an atmosphere of care, concern and support. That’s why we keep our classes intimate (average size is just 17 students). Your professors and fellow students will know you. You’ll graduate with a powerful network of friends and mentors.
Support: We know today’s college students face a lot of pressures. Dominican is on the leading edge of schools providing the most comprehensive student support services. They include: career development, free tutoring, on-campus health care and counseling, and advisors who will help you map a college-to-career plan from day one.

"Going to Dominican was a special experience for my family and me. I was the first person in my family to go to college. Dominican created opportunities for me. I found a lot of support through the community at Dominican and I had a real sense that everyone on campus cares about me as a person."
