Application information

First-year

McKendree University is a selective university committed to the evaluation of the whole person.  A student’s GPA and desire to succeed in a challenging academic environment has consistently been the best predictor of academic success at McKendree.  Admission decisions are based on rigor of curriculum, recommendations, proven leadership skills, community involvement, work experience, engagement with the University through campus visits, and the capacity to contribute to the campus community. An official high school or GED transcript is required.

Transfer

Admission to McKendree is selective. Decisions are based on school records, including the rigor of curriculum, recommendations and evidence of student leadership. McKendree selects students who demonstrate potential and desire to succeed in a rigorous academic environment.

Each application is reviewed holistically, however, to be considered for admission as a transfer student, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all coursework completed at the post-secondary level.

Transfer equivalency credit will be determined by the Office of Academic Records according to the policies stated in the Academic Programs and Policies section of the catalog under Transfer Credit.

Additional information

We believe that students and families should consider a college education as an investment in the future; an investment that provides a life-long return that is both measurable and immeasurable. Recent studies show that individuals with a bachelor’s degree earn more than those without.

Consider this: McKendree graduates boast a post-graduation success rate of 97%. Think about that ... 97% of our graduates are either employed or enrolled in graduate school within 6 months of completing their undergraduate degree.

We also believe that students are transformed academically, socially, and emotionally from life here at McKendree. We’re confident in saying that it will be the most important self-investment you’ll ever make.

The Financial Aid Office is committed to providing you with the financial aid resources and information you need to enable you to pursue the high quality educational experience that McKendree offers and we are eager to assist you in making it affordable.
