Providence College campus
We are a community of thinkers and problem-solvers. We ask tough questions and seek answers to the world’s biggest challenges. And we’re united in our search for Veritas or Truth, which is our college motto. Here, we believe you will find what you are looking for.

Providence College is the nation’s only college administered by the Dominican friars. Rooted in the liberal arts and highly rigorous, our core curriculum is steeped in Catholic intellectual tradition and marked by its signature Development of Western Civilization Program. Students complete a four-year experience that is as fulfilling as it is challenging, empowering them to take ownership of their education in a deeply supportive community.

Additional information

Providence College offers more than 60 majors and 30 minors within four main areas of study: arts and sciences, business, nursing and health sciences, and education and social work. With a 11:1 student-faculty ratio, professors are attuned to students’ interests and invested in their success. The invaluable mentorship and support contribute to our high retention rate — 94% of our students return to PC after their first year here.

PC’s interdisciplinary education extends well beyond the classroom with a focus on building practical knowledge from real-world experience. More than 94% of graduates complete at least one internship or career-building experience, and more than a third of all students participate in one-on-one research with faculty.

Our students are highly sought after in the professional marketplace and in graduate programs. Dedicated faculty and staff are deeply invested in student success after graduation, and a vast network of more than 60,00 alumni are eager to connect graduates with opportunities. This adds up to 97% of our graduates being employed or attending graduate school within six months of graduation; they make a mean starting salary of $58,009 (based on data from the Class of 2024).

Co-curricular activities abound at Providence College. There are more than 120 student-run clubs and organizations. We also have one of the nation’s top intramural sports programs and 21 NCAA Division I athletic teams in the BIG EAST and Hockey East conferences.

In keeping with our founding commitment to educational access, Providence College offers need-based and merit-based aid to qualifying students.
