Application information
First-year
Prospective first-year cadets are required to be a high school graduate or possess a GED, and have not attended college. High school transcripts are required for acceptance. Grades earned in English, math, science, history and foreign languages can improve your application. Medical approval is required after academic acceptance.

Department/School Highlights
The Department of Intelligence and Security Studies: Certified by the International Association for Intelligence Education, The Citadel is uniquely qualified to offer a curriculum in Intelligence and Security Studies. Cadets have access to clubs, travel opportunities, guest speakers, conferences and more.
The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences: The Citadel is named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. Cadets have opportunities such as The Citadel Department of Defense (DOD) Cyber Institute (CDCI).
The Tommy and Victoria Baker School of Business: Cadets are provided opportunities such as attending The Citadel Directors’ Institute, participating in the Baker Business Bowl and joining clubs/organizations such as the Student Managed Investment Fund.
The School of Engineering: Among the nation’s top 25 engineering programs, cadets experience a near 99% job placement rate within 6-months of graduation. The Citadel is on track to become a premier School of Engineering for AI education with participation in the AI DeepRacer league.
