University of Mary Hardin-Baylor campus

Founded in 1845, the university has traditionally been known for producing excellent educators, nurses, business leaders, and missionaries. That has not changed, but today UMHB is also earning recognition for its talented science and music graduates, for top-notch graduate programs in counseling and physical therapy, and more.

What’s behind this success? An unapologetic dedication to Christian principles. An emphasis on inspired teaching, on making each student’s learning experience the best it can be. A commitment to excellence in every aspect of university life.

Application information

First-year

Is this your first time attending a college or university? Welcome! We know this process can be confusing, exciting, and scary sometimes (or maybe a mix of all three). Below we’ve listed the admission requirements for first-time college students and the steps to apply. One note, college admissions exams (ACT & SAT) are optional, and while they can lead to additional scholarships we will not require them for you to be admitted.

If you get lost at any point, check out our Admissions FAQs or feel free to reach out to your Admissions Counselor. We can’t wait to meet you!

Steps to Apply

  • Complete and submit your application for admission.
  • Submit an official transcript from each high school attended.
  • Final official transcripts must be submitted upon graduation and must include your graduation date and class rank.
  • Submit your scores from the SAT or ACT.
    • Our ACT school code is 4128
    • Our SAT school code is 6396
  • Submit bacterial meningitis vaccine documents (Not required for students age 22 or older).

Additional information

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor makes available a broad range of financial assistance to qualified students. Most financial aid is awarded in accordance with demonstrated need for assistance, as determined by use of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Certain University scholarships are awarded upon the basis of excellence in academics or proficiency in a particular field of study or activity.

All financial aid is granted for no more than a nine-month academic period. Financial aid is renewable each year, upon reapplication (completion of the FAFSA), if the student is in good academic standing. Possible changes in the amount of aid for each succeeding year may occur because of changes in funding levels and applicants' financial data.
