Additional information
At U of M Crookston, we assign students a success team consisting of a faculty advisor and a college advisor and, for students living in the residence halls, a community advisor. The primary job of this team is to make sure that the student is successful and gets the most out of their college experience.
Every first-year student will take a First Year Experience course, which provides a great opportunity for students to get to know one another in their first semester on campus. The class is designed to help students succeed. It addresses everything from setting goals to strategies for studying to managing stress in a college environment.
Students will meet regularly with the two core members of their success team: their faculty advisor and a professional college advisor. These meetings help students get to know of the most important resources for them on campus: people whose job is to help and make sure they are successful.
