WMU's Early Action Deadline (non-binding) is December 15. Students should apply by this date to be considered for admission to all Western academic programs†, admissions merit scholarships, Medallion scholarship consideration and priority invitation to the Lee Honors College.

†Students interested in Aviation Flight Science or direct admission to the Bronson School of Nursing should visit the Competitive Admission Programs website for details on specific application details and deadlines. Both programs are fall entry only.

Transfer

Apply as a transfer if you have graduated from high school or earned high school equivalency, such as GED AND have any earned any college credit after high school graduation. Western Michigan University does not use the Common Application for transfer applicants. Find the transfer application at wmich.edu/transfer/apply.

Student Outcomes
We know a college education is a big investment. That's why we're proud to say that 9 of 10 Broncos are employed quickly, working in their field in jobs they like.† Broncos are confident that their investment will pay off. Shortly after graduation, graduates tell us:
  • 93% participated in experience-driven learning†
  • 97% had instructors who made them excited about learning†
  • 95% have a job related to their degree†
  • 92% are satisfied with their jobs†
†Through WMU's 2023-24 Post-graduation Activity Survey of graduates, the University collected data for a total of 2,859 graduates, or 73%, of those who earned their degrees between August 2023 and June 2024. Based on the survey respondents, 2,059 were employed full time, 93 were employed part time, 535 employed their degree to gain admittance to graduate school or were otherwise continuing their education, 8 were engaged in military service and 1 was volunteering full time. View more stats at wmich.edu/about/facts.
